I am delighted to shortly be launching Support West Derby, an initiative aimed at preventing constituents with urgent support needs from turning to shoplifting in desperation.

I am immensely proud to be launching the Hillsborough Law Now Campaign in Parliament in July, supported by Andy Burnham, Greater Manchester Mayor and Steve Rotheram, Liverpool City Region Mayor.

Tory efforts to pit worker against worker are failing. Industrial action is always a last resort and strikes do not pit barrister versus railway worker, or postie versus cleaner. All workers have a right to a fair day’s pay for a fair day’s work.

I stand in solidarity with Communication Workers Union (CWU) members at BT, who voted yesterday for the company’s first national strike in 35 years.

This week I voted for Labour’s Opposition Day Motion on strengthening standards in public life, after the Prime Minister downgraded and rigged the rules in the wake of Sue Gray’s report into conduct at Downing Street.
