Interview: Free school meals for pupils with special education needs

Yesterday, ahead of my Westminster Hall debate on access to Free School Meals for children with special educational needs and disabilities, I explained to Contact charity why I decided to call for the debate in Parliament.

I told them: “Seeing the scale of the problem was staggering and it shocked me to my core. Parents, Contact charity and other campaigners should not have had to fight this hard, and for so long.

“We've seen today in regard to the Post Office Scandal how quickly Government can act when the political will is there. So I sincerely hope the Schools Minister will today give his assurance that the Government will act swiftly on this issue too.”
